Response to the Taryn Baird Outcome.

Project Resist issued a statement on behalf of the Suicide is Homicide campaign in response to the Taryn Baird court outcome. The verdict does not diminish the significance of our campaign and the wider struggle waged by families seeking justice in contexts of domestic abuse and coercive control. We stand with Taryn's family and all the families who have lost loved ones to abuse-driven suicide. This case underscores why the legal system must take seriously the evidence of coercive control as a driver of preventable death, and why systemic reform of coronial and prosecutorial practice is urgent.
